Where’s that 8.5% inflation?

Today I checked in on some of the food products I was monitoring last fall.  I was genuinely shocked by what I found.

They are telling us that we have seen “8.5%” inflation.

That number is garbage.  It’s the result of years worth of gaming the inflation formula to be favorable to the ones in office.

To get an idea of what the real inflation numbers look like, check out the chart above of basic foods and how their prices have gone up in just twelve months time.  These represent prices I have personally tracked.

Actual inflation for the things Americans buy is closer to 30-35%.  That takes into account food staples, gas & transportation, energy (electricity and home heating), and shelter.  We could add to that the higher interest rates that Americans are now paying, since more and more are having to finance things like home heating oil and even grocery purchases.

How many Americans have seen their income increase by 30% over the last year?  Most haven’t even seen an 8.5% increase to keep pace with the fake numbers.
