Pantry Watch, 09/24/2022

Large white eggs increased in price from $2.17 to $2.32, an 8% increase.

On parallel note, cracked corn increased last week by 50 cents. It is now $14.49 locally. Last year at this time it was $9.99 per bag. I mention this just because it may indicate a problem with the corn harvest.

Chicken remains expensive, especially breast meat.

The large 64oz peanut butters are still out of stock online and at the local Walmart, and the 5lb bags of Great Value corn meal are still out of stock.

Foods to watch:

Rice (very poor harvest in California)
Tomatoes (very poor harvest in California)
Olives (very poor harvest in Spain)
