This week’s Pantry Watch update is out-of-sync with our regular schedule due to sickness over the weekend.
Great Value Vegetables have settled at $6.78 for a case of 12 cans for corn, peas, and green beans. Peas and corn had gone from $5.88 for 12 cans to $10.61 last week, before going on sale for $5.18 per case. This new regular price of $6.78 represents a 15% increase over 2 weeks ago.
Great Value coffee in the 48oz can went from $8.98 to $9.98 this week, an 11% increase. Coffee stock at the local store is still light, with some brands not even available. The 48oz can went out of stock both online and locally for 2 days but is now back on the shelves.
Great Value brand tuna is still out of stock online. Stock at the local store is very thin.
GV peanut butters are back in stock online this week. Stock at the local store is thin for all brands of peanut butter, with some brands only having their “crunchy” variety in stock.
Pasta stock is thin at the local store, with no elbows in any brand. Save-A-Lot and local grocery stores still have elbows.
Stock of bottled water is very low.
Eggs are still high, but plentiful. No apparent stock issues with butter or milk.
Produce seems well-stocked at local grocery stores a good variety of meats are available. Chicken is still very expensive, but available. Bacon has come down some in price and is available at every store.
